In agreement with the main orientations defined by the French Cancer Plan 2003-2007, Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest has made translational research central to its research program. Developed in close connection with patients, translational research enables a bi-directional flow of knowledge from cognitive research toward medical applications and from observations made on patients toward cognitive research. This approach should accelerate practical application of the most recent discoveries, for the patient’s benefit.

Key actions for implementing translational research in Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest, include development of multidisciplinary research programs, technological platforms and clinical date management units. Developing translational research should stimulate the creation of new public-private partnerships involving our researchers."
